After studying fine art and design at college for 1 year I left with the goal of finding work whilst still creating pieces of art. However I used to live in a sleepy coastal town which didn't offer much in the way of work or being different. I wanted to begin my own life and spread my wings. I started by painting pictures with butterfly wings. My first ever was my Butterfly Violin, the sterling silver necklace of this can be found on here, on my catalogue page. I then began to paint butterfly ladies... They were free and happy, not letting the stresses of life get to them and not worrying about being different.
Using my experience of art and design and my Dad's engineering and bookbinding knowledge I began to learn how to operate machinery to create bookbinding tools and sell them on Etsy and Greenwich Market, but at the same time creating paintings.
My paintings were a true representation of how I felt and I wanted to share them with the world but in a unique way. As I had learnt to engrave using a CNC machine I decided to invest in some sterling silver, designing my artwork on the computer so it could be cut into metal and be worn as a unique and beautiful piece of jewellery. My first ever attempt at this was my butterfly violin necklace, which are still going strong today.
I slowly stopped making bookbinding tools and concentrated on creating designs that were affordable and desirable to people, teaching myself how to plate metals and use sterling silver to create pieces of jewellery and after some time using wood to create new and unique gifts and products.
I began to grow my own business and website.
All my items are made with customers in mind, using passion and care to create each piece and I hope this shines through in my products.
