These necklaces are designed and handmade by me. Not wanting to waste any of the beautiful, exotic hardwoods that I use to create my jewellery I have layered Zebrano and African Padauk or Zebrano and Purpleheart alternating them with two strips of gilding brass to give a minimalist yet striking appearance. As shown in the pictures there are two designs to choose from, design 1 or design 2, either with African padauk or purpleheart. Please select your choice of exotic hardwood from the wood choice and you design choice from the design choice option . The design is all the way around the necklace.
- Zebrano wood ~ A lovely golden yellow to golden orange hardwood with light brown to black stripes. As Zebrano wood is so varied each necklace will be completely different and unique.
- African Padauk ~ When freshly cut this stunning hardwood is a vibrant reddish orange. The grain is usually straight, but can sometimes be interlocked with a coarse, open texture and good natural lustre, making each piece individual.
- Purpleheart wood ~ When freshly cut this unusual hardwood is a brown colour but with exposure to UV light and heat it turns a dull pink to a deep purple. I make these necklaces when the wood is a deep eggplant purple and treat them with Seal-Coat and a protective top coat to help maintain their natural deep eggplant purple colour.
- When the necklace is not being worn please keep it out of direct sunlight or in its box to help maintain it's colour.
- Layered with two strips of gilding brass.
- Treated with Seal-Coat (de-waxed shellac) and a UV protective top coat bringing out the grains natural lustre, with a semi gloss finish and giving the necklace durable protection.
-Pendant (approximately) height 34mm, width 8mm and depth 5mm.
- The pendant will come on a sterling silver 16 inch flat trace chain with a two inch extension (16 to 18 inches).
- Placed in a black matchbox style gift box tied with a white sparkle ribbon. Included in the box will be care instructions and descriptions of the woods used.
Please note that due to the natural nature of wood, wood grains will vary, making each and every necklace unique.
Production time and shipping: These necklaces take 3 to 5 working days to dispatch. To the UK postage is free and once dispatched can take 1 to 2 business days to arrive. To the rest of the world postage is £8 and once dispatched can take 3 to 9 business days to arrive.
